Hi.  My name is Heather Watkins-Vaughn and I have been with Brunswick Plantation as an employee for 13 years and a resident for 6. As the Landscape Maintenance Manager, I oversee the maintenance of all of the Commons Areas on the property. My staff is responsible for the mowing, pruning, annual flower installation and care, and other related tasks on the property. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as an undergraduate and Horry Georgetown Technical College for turf and design. I hold 5 chemical licences that allow myself an my staff to deal with insect, fungal, aquatic, and weed issues. At the same time I am a strong advocate of Green and organic products and uses them as much as practical. I am married to Brunswick's Golf Superintendent Rob Vaughn and am the mother of 3. I am also a leader in the youth group at my church. I enjoy hiking, camping, museums, arboretums, gardens, and love to read and paint.

      Hi, my name is Todd Helf and I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. After high school I attended a community college in the Atlanta area to play basketball and was offered a scholarship to Coastal Carolina University near Myrtle Beach, SC a year later. After graduating college I joined the local workforce and have been in the area for the past 30 years.

     I worked with Brunswick Plantation Developer Mason Anderson at Oceanside Corporation for several years before Brunswick began. After Brunswick got off the ground I became the Residential Construction Builder Manager. We finished our first home in 1993 and have since completed almost 500 homes. We have constructed 100% of the Theme Village homes and about 65% of all the custom homes here. I have made Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort my career and look forward to serving you during the construction of your new home.

      Hi, my name is Rob Vaughn.  I graduated from North Carolina State University in 1979 earning an Associates Degree in Turf Grass Management.  I moved to the Myrtle Beach area immediately upon graduation.  I have since spent 37 years in the golf industry and turfgrass management. I have worked for several golf courses in this area including Myrtle Beach National.

     I worked as Assistant Construction Superintendent at Man O War and Wizard. I then worked at Aberdeen Golf Club before accepting the position of Golf Course Superintendent at Brunswick Plantation in 1999. It's been a real pleasure working here....the owners are some of the best I have worked for. They respect my professionalism that I bring everyday to make Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort an enjoyable golf experience.

Hi. My name is Shawn Hicken and am originally from upstate New York. I moved to the Myrtle Beach area in 1995 to pursue a career in the golf industry. Making it to the top in this field did not come easy. I worked many long hours in golf course construction as well as grounds maintenance for many area courses. I also possess a good golf game and spent some time trying to make it to the PGA tour.

Prior to coming to Brunswick I worked as the first assistant at the Thistle Golf Club and Bald Head Island Club. I was hired by Brunswick Plantation and Golf Resort in 2004 as the Head Golf Professional. I also manage the Pro-Shop and am the Membership Director. I bring 15 years of experience in the Myrtle Beach golf market. I have experienced every avenue it takes to make it in this business. My dedication and devotion to the game of golf and life is evidenced by my pursuit of excellence.

Hi, my name is Kevin Anderson and I grew up right here in Calabash, NC..literally across the street from Brunswick Plantation. I actually worked here on a couple summer breaks landscaping and at the pro shop. After High School, I attended the University of NC at Wilmington where I earned a degree in Business Administration.

After college I completed Real Estate School and earned my Brokers license for NC. I then took a sales agent position with Century 21 in Wilmington. It wasn't long before I realized I'd rather build homes than sell them and so I began work in the Commercial Building Division at Brunswick Plantation in 2004. I started as the warranty and customer service manager and decided I should get my General Contractors License if I wanted to move up quickly, which I did. I then moved up to Field Operations Manager, Assistant Manager, and now General Manager.

I take pride in building homes as if they were my own. Thorough quality control, best practices, and now Energy Star certified construction help make this a reality.

I enjoy working at Brunswick Plantation for many reasons. Since I also live here my commute is only about 2 minutes. Also, I've enjoyed watching Brunswick's progress from its creation, to becoming a part of the community and growing with it and our company to become better every day. And of course it's so beautiful, with the lush landscaping, serene fountains, and the classic American Colonial architecture. And its also so great to meet so many different and interesting people.

Hello!  My name is Robin Hewett Hicken and I am The 19th Hole Restaurant Manager and Special Events Coordinator.  I have been employed with Brunswick Plantation for 19 years and have had the pleasure of working in several different positions.  But I can honestly say that managing the restaurant and planning special events is my passion.

I am a Brunswick County native.  Born and raised right behind Brunswick Plantation, which is where I still live.   My family has had the privilege of calling Brunswick County home for many generations.  

After graduating form West Brunswick High School in Shallotte, I continued my education at Brunswick Community College earning an Associate's Degree in General Education.  Several years later I returned to Gardner-Webb University in Shelby, NC earning a Bachelor's  Degree in Business Administration.  I continued my education by earning a diploma in Hotel/Restaurant Management from Penn Foster University.  Recently, I completed a food safety course and received my SerSafe Certificate.

Brunswick Plantation is a wonderful place to work and I look forward to going to work every day.  I especially enjoy meeting new people and making their wedding dreams come true.  My job enables me to face new challenges and be able to push my abilities to the limit.  It is truly my home away from home!
